Dragon Explorer Scout Unit was formed way back in February 2003 when The Scout Association first decided to create Explorer Scouts as a replacement for Venture Scouts. We meet around Maidenhead with many different bases, depending on our activity plan for the evening.
We are a very active unit, regularly taking part in District Events, such as the Cardboard Box Boat Race in July, Archery and Air Rifle competitions, Annual London Monopoly Run and many more. We also take part in other regional events such as the Exmoor Youth Challenge in May and the 3 Towers Hike in April and we have been abroad on adventures with Berkshire Scouts such as Project Africa (2011, 2015 and 2019), World Scout Jamborees (2003 to 2019), Explorer Belt to Iceland in 2017 and Alps 2022 (Hautes-Alpes Region).
